Welcome to our new and returning members and families.

 We are looking forward to an exciting and busy year.

Our Charity’s Trustees have just approved £3,950 expenditure to support the ensembles:

·       BAYO tour to Italy

·       Fairthorne Manor Residential Training Weekend

·       Avon Tyrell Residential Training Weekend

Welcoming Katie Long as Assistant Conductor of BAYSO

We are pleased to announce that Katie Long has been appointed to fill the vacant BAYSO Assistant Conductor Position.

Katie played double bass for many years in the ensembles before going to University.

A graduate of the  Royal College of Music she is a peripatetic teacher of strings, piano and keyboard including specialist double bass tuition for holders of Hampshire Music Service Awards for Exceptional Ability. 

Welcome back Katie to the BAYO family.

At the Trustees meeting last night we agreed to provide

  • £2,500 to support the BAYO European tour.
  • £500 for the BAYWTO and TAYB workshop weekend at Avon Tyrell
  • £500 for the BAYSTO and BAYPE workshop weekend at Fairthorne Manor
  • £450 for the BAYWO workshop day with professional composer and conductor Colin Touchin.

As a charity we are pleased to work in partnership with Hampshire Music Service enabling young musicians to Participate, Enjoy and Achieve.
